How to Import your Blogger Blog

Wicked Plum offers a shop and blog all in one — but what if you’ve already got a blog elsewhere? It’s easy to import what you’ve already posted there into Wicked Plum, and then everything will be in one place.

You’ll probably want to post one last time to your old blog, directing everyone to your new one — there’s no need to delete the old one, as people will still visit it, but you’ll want to make sure readers are aware that you’ve moved elsewhere.

To import posts and comments from your Blogger Blog to your Wicked Plum blog, follow the steps below – click the images to view full-size, and watch for the big orange arrows to guide you.

Make sure you’re logged in to your Google (Blogger) account. In a new browser window or tab, log in to your Wicked Plum shop.

On the left navigation menu, click “Settings”, and then click “Import”:

Click “Blogger” at the top of the list:

Click the “Authorize” button:

Make sure that the website in the yellow box is your Wicked Plum shop (either yourdomain.com or wickedplum.com/shops/yourshopname), and click “Grant Access”:

Verify that the blog you want to import appears under the “Blog Name” and “Blog URL” columns, and click the “Import” button. Note: if you have multiple blogs under one account, they will appear in the list. You can follow this process for as many blogs as you’d like; they will all merge into your single Wicked Plum shop blog.

Once the import is complete (for example, 2/2 posts and 5/5 comments; this may take a few minutes, depending on how large your blog is), the “Import” button from the previous step will become the “Set Authors” button. Click the “Set Authors” button:

Select your Wicked Plum user ID from the “WordPress Login” dropdown menu and click “Save Changes”:

When the import is finished, you’ll land on the “Edit Posts” page, which is a giant storage area for just about everything in your shop – blog posts and item listings alike. Not to worry! You’re almost done. All you need to do is let us know that you’ve imported your blog, and we’ll make the final adjustments so that your blog posts and comments appear on your Wicked Plum shop blog.
